Authorities arrested a 20-year-old man in Sta. Maria, Davao Occidental for allegedly practicing dentistry without a license.

The arrest was made on Thursday, June 18, 2026.

According to the Davao Occidental Police Provincial Office, the suspect was identified as alias “Jonjon,” a resident of Barangay Glamang, Magsaysay, Davao del Sur.

Based on investigation, the suspect was caught in the act of performing dental procedures without legal authority, which is a violation of the Philippine Dental Act (RA 9484).

During the operation, police operatives recovered various dental and orthodontic equipment believed to have been used in the illegal practice.
Representatives from the Municipal Health Office and the Philippine Dental Association also joined the operation to ensure that the law was properly enforced.
The suspect is now detained and facing charges.
