A man who had just graduated college landed in the hospital after he was shot outside his school right after his graduation past midday on on Thursday, June 25, 2026.

The school is located in Barangay Kingking, Pantukan, Davao de Oro.

According to the Pantukan Municipal Police Station, the victim was heading home on board a minivan when ambushed by the suspect.

The suspect, who was on board another minivan, opened fire at the victim’s vehicle before fleeing.

The victim sustained four gunshot wounds from a caliber .45 pistol.

He was rushed to a hospital for treatment and, according to the police, is now in stable condition.

Investigation is ongoing to identify the perpetrator and determine the motive.

The local government has expressed concern over the shooting, especially that it happened outside the school premises.

The local government is coordinating closely with law enforcement authorities and other agencies concerned to support the ongoing investigation.

“The LGU assures the public that it is committed to extending all necessary assistance and support to the victim and his family,” the local government said.
