A policeman seen in a viral video pointing a firearm at a civilian in Barangay Antipolo, Dapitan City, Zamboanga del Norte, has apologized.

The police corporal assigned to Sapang Dalaga Municipal Police Station in Misamis Occidental has been disarmed after the incident and placed under restrictive custody of the Provincial Internal Affairs Service (PIAS) in Misamis Occidental

Based on investigation, the civilian allegedly asked the suspect about his friend, who was also known to the police officer, outside a store evening on Sunday, June 21, 2026.

The conversation reportedly escalated into an altercation where the officer was seen allegedly drawing and pointing a firearm at the victim.

The suspect was reportedly under the influence of alcohol at that time.

In another video uploaded on social media, the police officer is seen speaking before officials of the Misamis Occidental Provincial Police Office, where he apologized for his actions.

He reportedly became emotional during the meeting, expressing regret over the incident.

He is expected to face multiple charges, including grave threats and administrative complaints.

“Katung permiro nga problema nako na surpass nako to wala ko nag-expect ba. Pero wala ko nawalaan og paglaom sa Ginoo nga masulbad nako ni siya nga problema,” the suspect said.
