The Low Pressure Area (LPA) inside the Philippine Area of Responsibility (PAR) may develop into a tropical depression within the next 24 hours, according to PAGASA on Monday, June 29, 2026.
As of 8 a.m., the LPA was located about 390 kilometers east of Guiuan, Eastern Samar.
PAGASA said the weather disturbance has a high likelihood of intensifying into a tropical depression within the next 24 hours. The public was advised to continue monitoring official weather updates.
The state weather bureau also forecast heavy rainfall in several areas due to the LPA.
From Monday until noon on Tuesday, 50 to 100 millimeters of rain may affect:
- Sorsogon
- Albay
- Masbate
- Northern Samar
- Eastern Samar
- Samar
- Biliran
- Leyte
- Romblon
From Tuesday noon until Wednesday noon, the same amount of rainfall is expected over:
- Palawan
- Occidental Mindoro
- Oriental Mindoro
- Romblon
- Marinduque
- Masbate
- Sorsogon
From Wednesday noon until Thursday noon, heavy rainfall is forecast in:
- Occidental Mindoro
- Oriental Mindoro
- Palawan
PAGASA said rainfall may be heavier in mountainous and elevated areas. It also warned that the effects of the rain could be worsened by previous rainfall in some locations.
The weather bureau advised the public and local disaster risk reduction and management offices to take the necessary precautions to protect lives and property.
