Two houses with business establishments were razed to the ground after a fire hit Alabel, Sarangani evening on Sunday, July 12, 2026.

The fire broke out in a compound in Barangay Poblacion around 7 p.m. and was put out within 45 minutes.

Two houses, including a tarpaulin printing shop and an upholstery shop, were affected. Machines and materials from the establishments were among those damaged in the blaze.

According to the Bureau of Fire Protection (BFP)–Alabel, no one was injured in the incident, while residents were able to rescue a bedridden female person with disability (PWD).

The local government has provided assistance to the two affected families.

The damage was estimated at around P160,000.

Authorities are still investigating the cause of the fire.

“As to the cause sa sunog, under investigahan pa…Pinakaduol na pina-cause  is electrical fire,” BFP-12 Alabel Spokesperson, FO2 Glenn Percy Tulio, said.

BFP reminded the public to remain vigilant against fire hazards.

“Bisan naa tay nasinatian nga linog ug tapos nag-ulan ulan pa. kunbaga dili gihapon natu I -neglect ang kining hazard natu nga fire, so bantayan gihapon natu ang panimalay  dili natu biyaan,” Tulio added.
