A 29-year-old man drowned after he tried to rescue two minors who were initially believed to be drowning at sea in Iligan City.
Rescuers from the Iligan City Disaster Risk Reduction and Management Office (CDRRMO) and police personnel rushed to rescue a man who drowned at a beach resort in Barangay Sta. Filomena shortly after 1 p.m. on Friday, July 10, 2026.
Based on investigation, the man reportedly attempted to rescue two minor boys, eight and seven years old, who were reportedly being swept away by strong waves at that time.
