An elderly couple and their 38-year-old son were found dead inside their home in Barangay Turno, Dipolog City on Thursday, August 20, 2026.
Investigation showed they were killed with a coconut grater and a knife.
According to the Dipolog City Police, an 82-year-old man was found dead in a room while his 77-year-old wife was found dead in another room. Their son was found dead in the living room.
The weapons allegedly used in the killing were recovered from the crime scene.
“Katung kaguran nga gigamit sa duha ka magtiayon murag same ra pud gihapon nga murder weapon nga gigamit didto sa iyang anak sa adopted son,” Dipolog City Police Chief, Lt. Col. Khisna Asaali, said.
Investigators ruled out robbery as motive as there was no indication of forced entry in the incident. No bloodstain was also found outside the house.
A witness said that prior to the incident, the couple and their son figured in a heated argument. However, it cannot be established yet that the son was the one who killed the couple before taking his own life.
“Dili pa nato makahatag og conclusion until such time seguru kung mahuman ang atung in-depth investigation ani,kay naa pud mga statement nga kaning adopted is naay dipererensya gamay sa iyang utok.
