It was a historic day for winners of the volleyball tournament of NCAA Season 100.
In the men's division, Arellano University bagged its first championship title while, in the women's division, the De La Salle-College of Saint Benilde won its fourth consecutive title during Game 2 of the finals on Wednesday, June 11, 2025, at the Filoil Centre.
FIRST TIME CHAMPS
Arellano University defeated Colegio de San Juan de Letran in four sets, 24-26, 25-21, 25-15, 25-17, during Game 2 of the finals.
It was historic for Arellano not only because it was the first time it bagged the title but also because the win came after years of the school missing the Final Four.
"Sobrang saya kasi matagal na naming pinagarap 'to at tinrabaho talaga ng mga bata. Ang daming nangyari sa team, may mga struggles during season tsaka mga away," first-year Arellano head coach Bryan Vitug told GMA Integrated News.
Vitug was was named Coach of the Year.
Graduating outside spiker Carl Verdal was named finals MVP with 16 points (15 attacks and one block). He also tallied six digs.
FOUR-PEAT WINNERS
Meanwhile, the Benilde Lady Blazers won their fourth straight championship title in NCAA women's volleyball at the expense of Colegio de San Juan de Letran.
They defeated Letran in three straight sets, 25-19, 25-22, 25-19, in Game 2 of the finals.
Clydel Catarig unleashed 11 points and 10 attacks for the Blazers' historic win.
The Blazers' Mycah Go was named Finals MVP while Head Coach Onyok Getigan was named #NCAA100 Women's Volleyball Coach of the Year.
