Celebrating 100 years of liberal arts in La Salle

The College of Liberal Arts of the De La Salle University will celebrate its centennial with an evening of socials entitled “Legacy:  A Celebration of Liberal Arts at DLSU Through the Ages” on November 9, 2018, 6:30 p.m. at the Verdure, 5/F, Henry Sy Sr. Hall.

The evening will be the climax of a week-long series of events, exhibits, talks and seminars that coincided with the Lasallian Mission Week on November 5-10, 2018 that marks the beginning of a year-long celebration.

CLA, originally the College of Arts and Sciences, was founded in 1918. It conferred its first Bachelor of Arts degree upon graduates in 1920. Phased out in 1931 because of lack of personnel, the College reopened in 1953. Four years later, it awarded its first post-war degrees. Since then, expansion and improvements have made it the dynamic college that it is today. In 1982, the College of Arts and Sciences was divided into two—the College of Liberal Arts and the College of Science.

For queries and other information, please email mary.grace.lopez@dlsu.edu.ph.  The alumni, faculty and the Board of Advisers of each department are invited to join and their presence is expected to create a great opportunity for networking and the forging of partnerships.
