VIDEO: Patrick Stewart on Twitter 'Mothership': 'Engage!'

It wasn't quite the USS Enterprise D or E, but the actor who played the famous Captain Jean-Luc Picard appeared quite at home giving an order to "Engage" aboard another "Mothership."

Sir Patrick Stewart visited Twitter offices - which he called the "Mothership" - and starred in a Vine video where he re-lived a gesture that would blow "Star Trek" fans out of this world.

The Vine video showed a row of Twitter employees on their laptops, reading out status messages and awaiting orders from an out-of-Starfleet uniform Stewart, who made his famous point-and-shoot gesture before ordering "Engage."

Long before Stewart became known to fans as Charles Xavier in the "X-Men" films, he played the role of Captain Picard on "Star Trek: The Next Generation," which ran from 1987 to 1994.

A separate article on tech site Mashable said Twitter's Vine video "made every geek's dream come true."

"We hope Twitter served him plenty of hot Earl Grey tea. If not, in the words of Jean-Luc Picard: 'Make it so,'" Mashable said. — TJD, GMA News
