Ateneo's legendary Manang's is not closing

Ateneans—and the general liempo-loving public for that matter—can now heave a sigh of relief.

On its Facebook account Wednesday, Ateneo de Manila University killed rumors of Manang's, a beloved eatery in the Katipunan campus, closing down in December.

"This is to dispel the worrisome news that Manang's Clubhouse will close in December. Not at all true," informed Ateneo.

On social media over the weekend, news about Manang's closing spread like wildfire. Anxious Ateneans voiced out their sadness and concern over the possibility of never having the delicious pork liempo that's made Manang's a household name.

Manang's is a 20-year-old eatery Located beside the covered courts, where students, teachers, employees, and drivers endure the long lines and cramped tables just to get their fill of what they claim as the best liempo in town.

Ateneo's announcement on Wednesday brought quite a relief. The short FB update is now shared over 300 times and has been liked over 600 times. —LA, GMA News
