Anti-camcording gear set up for Marvel, Disney screenings at APCC 2018

Two kinds of night vision cameras have been set up to secure Marvel and Disney's screening events on the last day of the Asia POP Comicon.

Loralai Duran of the Motion Picture Association's (MPA) Anti-Camcording Task Force (ACTF) told GMA News Online that one camera is a standard night vision camera that will detect light in the pitch-black room to identify cameras and other recording devices.

The other is also a night vision camera but with recording features.

Both will be used to keep audiences from recording footage at the APCC-exclusive event on Sunday.

Duran explained that Disney and Marvel commissioned the group to secure the events.

"Merong full depository. Definitely magche-check kami with NVG [night vision goggles] para sabihin sa mga guests na bawal 'yung phone and if ever, i-surrender sa [Hall] F5," Duran said.

Those caught trying to record footage will be approached by ACTF personnel and asked to delete their recordings before they are brought to the attention of event organizers.

Audiences who refuse to comply with the requirements will be brought to the nearest police station for violating Republic Act No. 10088 or the Anti-Camcording Act of 2010.

"We have to make necessary actions," Duran explained. "Fines will be a minimum of P50,000 and then they have to [go] to jail for a minimum of six months."
