Laura Lehmann, Winwyn Marquez hope to ride momentum to win crowns for PHL

The 2017 Miss World pageant is less than two months away and the the Reina Hispanoamericana competition is coming up in November. Are our representatives feeling the pressure right now?

Beauty queens Laura Lehhmann and Winwyn Marquez in an interview with Cata Tibayan on Balitanghali on Thursday were optimistic about hitting the stage and representing the Philippines to the world.

"The momentum is still there. We just finished the pageant, so siguro...hopefully we're still in shape. Nandoon pa 'yong lessons from training," Lehmann said.

The pair are still undergoing training and are showing no signs of slowing down. Marquez is doubly excited, as she is the first Reina Hispanoamericana Filipinas.

"Siguro confident dahil first time sasali ang Philippines sa Reina Hispanoamericana, so for me, 'yon palang nakakakuha na akong ng boost galing sa mga sumusuporta," Marquez said, adding that previous Miss World Philippines titlists have advised them to "just enjoy the pageant."

Of course, they still take their responsibility as faces of the country seriously.

"On our sash is 'Philippines' and we want to show everyone that Filipinos are very nice people [and] they're welcoming," Lehmann said.
