Bb. Pilipinas 2018 candidates enjoy a feast, show off pool skills

The Binibining Pilipinas queens on Thursday had a feast of pizza and tacos — plus ice cream, too!

The 40 ladies competing for the crown visited the establishments of sponsors Pizza Hut, Dairy Queen, and Taco Bell in Araneta Center Cubao and the afternoon affair was a welcome break from their training for the Grand Coronation Night this March.

Binibini 38 Karen Gallman — a fan favorite, along with Catriona Gray, Michelle Gumabao, Aya Abesamis, and Sandra Lemonon — said that their training is markedly different and more intense than it was when she first joined six years ago.

"Fans are more stronger now, and super fanatic. Whereas in 2012, it wasn't that hyped. The trainings are more intense. Because every year we've been placing Top 10, Top 5, we just want to do better and better every year. So lahat ng training and everything it's more intense and harder," she said.

During the event, candidates were able to greet some of their fans and also signed messages on pizza boxes for them.

The Grand Coronation Night will be held on March 18, Sunday, at the Smart Araneta Coliseum. Reigning Binibining Pilipinas Universe Rachel Peters will be crowning her successor. — AT, GMA News
