Pinoy couple's love story similar to '50 First Dates'

A couple's love story channeled the movie "50 First Dates" where one of the protagonists suffers from a brain condition, causing her to forget about her lover.

Pio and Kristine Pamintuan proved that true love just doesn't exist in movies as their story was made public through Pep.ph, as reported by Vonne Aquino on Saksi on Tuesday night.

In December 2016, Pio suffered from encephalitis, an inflammation of the brain tissue that caused him to lose his memory.

According to the report, the affected part of Pio's brain was the one responsible for making new memories.

Despite the situation, Kristine remained by Pio's side, patiently reminding her husband of the memories they shared, through Facebook and a notebook she used to preserve the moments they shared.

"Hindi niya na ako kilala. Hindi niya na alam na buntis ako. So paulit-ulit 'yun. Paulit-ulit kong pinapaalala sa kaniya. Gumawa ako ng notebook. Nag-jot down ako ng mga nangyayari sa amin," she said.

Love was just in favor of them because right in the hospital, Pio proposed to Kristine once more, not knowing that he is already married to his beloved.

"Sabi ko nga, mamahalin kaya ako ng taong 'to? Tatanggapin kaya ako kahit na walang-wala na ako sa buhay ko? Ayun, naglakas-loob ako na ibigay sa kaniya 'yung ring," Pio said.

The two were married in May and are now parents to a cute baby.
