DoT congratulates Baguio after being recognized as creative city by UNESCO

Department of Tourism congratulates Baguio for being recognized by the United Nations Educational, Scientific, and Cultural Organization as a creative city. It is a first for the Philippines and the fifth for the ASEAN region.

According to Unang Balita Tuesday, DoT chief Wanda Teo hopes Baguio will inspire other Philippine cities to give importance to their crafts and folk art, which is the reason Baguio was included in this year’s select list of 64 cities.

UNESCO looks to seven points in determining what a creative city is: Design, Film, Gastronomy, Literature, Media Arts, Music, and Crafts and Folk Arts. — LA, GMA News
