Globe to temporarily suspend mobile services in Quiapo

Globe Telecom Inc. will temporarily suspend mobile services in Quiapo and the nearby areas for the next two days, following the recent blasts in the area.

"In compliance with a directive from the National Telecommunications Commission upon the request of the Philippine National Police, Globe Telecom will temporarily suspend for 48 hours mobile services in Quiapo and neighboring vicinities effective immediately," it said in an emailed statement Sunday evening.

"This means that Globe customers within the said areas may not be able to access call, text, and mobile data services while the suspension of services is in effect," it added.

This comes after the two explosions which hit Quiapo on Saturday afternoon, killing two and leaving six others injured.

"We appeal for our customers' understanding during this temporary shutdown of mobile services in the said area," Globe general counsel Froilan Castelo said. — Jon Viktor D. Cabuenas/BM, GMA News
