Clark Development Corp. announces job vacancies

State-run Clark Development Corp. has announced that the information communication technology and business process outsourcing sector in Clark Freeport Zone needs more workers to fill up vacancies this year. In a statement over the weekend, CDC president Felipe Antonio Remollo said that of the 1,981 job openings in the Freeport, 50.98 percent or 1,010 are related to ICT/BPO. He said among the possible ICT/BPO job vacancies include Web designers and developers, programmers, technical support operators, Linux and Windows Systems administrators, English online teachers, and call center agents. Also, he said among ICT/BPO firms with job openings are Cyber City Teleservices Inc. and Sutherland Global Services. Job openings were also noted in the garments and sewing industry. as of Feb. 29, the sector needed 308 workers. Other notable sectors in Clark that have job openings are the industrial electronics and manufacturing firms, which are in need of 129 workers. The CDC said the electronics sector rebounded after a slowdown in the last quarter of 2011. However, CDC noted that tourism-related projects are down due to lean season, and that summer vacation is yet to start. Also, it said aviation and aviation-related industries are now hiring, along with some concessionaire firms because of the increasing number of employees working at night shift in the Freeport. The agency said other firms that are on the hiring mode are Texas Instruments, Nanox Philippines, Phoenix Semiconductor Philippines Corp., Poongsan Microtec Philippines Corp., and SMK Electronics Corp. — LBG, GMA News
