The National Grid Corporation of the Philippines announced on Thursday that the Luzon Grid is on yellow alert from 10 a.m. to 11 a.m. and from 1 p.m. to 4 p.m.
It said the yellow alert status is "due to the unexpected shutdown and limited generation of some power plants, and high power demand."
The grid's available capacity is 11,387 MW but peak demand is at 10,532 MW.

Luzon grid is on yellow alert due to the unexpected shutdown and limited generation of some power plants, and high power demand.
The yellow alert is raised when the reserve power is below the required level or if a grid has thin reserves based on the difference between supply and demand.
The alert level, however, does not necessarily mean the thin reserves will lead to power outages. —KG, GMA News
