Better, cheaper NFA rice available next week

Starting next week, cheaper and better quality NFA rice will be available to the public, according to a report on Unang Balita on Wednesday.

One kilo of NFA rice will be sold at P32 and the quality of the new rice supply is of the same quality as commercial rice that costs P40 to P45 per kilo.

For the meantime, consumers can avail themselves of rice that costs P27 per kilo but in Metro Manila they are allowed to buy only up to five kilos.

The scheme was implemented by the National Food Authority to allow more consumers to avail of low-priced rice.

The NFA also expects that the price of commercial rice will be lower by one peso up to two pesos with the entry of a new batch of NFA rice supply. —BAP/KG, GMA News
