P2M destroyed in Las Piñas public market fire

At least P2 million in property was destroyed after a fire razed a talipapa (flea market) in Las Piñas City late on Friday night. No one was reported injured in the fire, which destroyed some 25 commercial stalls, radio dzBB's Paulo Santos reported early on Saturday. Las Piñas fire marshal Superintendent Felix Medes said the fire started at 10:48 p.m. at the flea market at Barangay CAA. The fire reached the third alarm before responding firefighters placed it under control at about 11:48 p.m. Medes cited sketchy initial information indicating the fire started at a stall selling plastic items. Arson investigators are still determining what caused the fire. - VVP, GMA News
