Grenade explodes near Manila police station

A grenade exploded near a police station along Abad Santos Street in Manila's Tondo district early Friday morning, causing tension in the area.

Police found a second grenade under a vehicle near the Manila Police District Station 7, radio dzBB's Glen Juego reported.

No one was initially reported injured in the blast, the report said.

Police bomb experts were at the scene even as investigators gather leads on the perpetrators and the motive behind the incident.

An update by dzBB's Juego indicated police are checking with establishments near the police station to see if there was any conflict that could have led to the grenade explosion.

Police cordoned off the area being placed under investigation.
