15-year-old survives collision with PNR train

A 15-year-old girl survived being run down by a Philippine National Railways train in Manila's Tondo district, GMA 7 morning news program "Unang Balit" reported on Monday.

The victim was crossing the rails on Tayuman Street when she failed to notice the oncoming train.

The train smashed into her with such force that it knocked her off to the side and left her unconscious.

By some miracle, the victim's encounter with a moving train left her with nothing worse than a few cuts and bruises.

Authorities said that the girl failed to notice the train bearing down on her because she was preoccupied with her earphones. — DVM, GMA News
