1 hurt in Paco commercial building fire

One person was injured when a fire broke out in a commercial building in Paco, Manila, on Wednesday morning.

Radio dzBB's Carlo Mateo reported that fire blazed at a grocery store on A. Linao street for almost four hours.

Authorities from Manila Police District were deployed to the area in order to prevent looting following the incident, the report said.

Manila Fire District said the owner of the grocery store violated Fire Code of the Philippines as it did not have fire hoses around the building.

The fire, which reached third alarm, was contained around 6:35 a.m.

The estimated cost of damage of the incident has yet to be determined as of the airing of the radio report. —Marlly Rome Bondoc/KBK, GMA News
