5 nabbed in QC drug raid, shabu mixed with glass fragments seized

Five persons were arrested during an anti-illegal drugs operation conducted by authorities in two barangays in Quezon City.

A "24 Oras" report by GMA News' Cesar Apolinario showed that sachets of suspected shabu mixed with glass fragments were seized by operatives of the Quezon City Police Station 6 in drug dens in Barangay Pasong Tamo.

Authorities also recovered sachets of suspected shabu inside the house of a certain Wilmae Gardose. She, however, denied that she is involved in the illegal drugx trade.

Some drug paraphernalia and two sachets of suspected shabu were also found inside a comfort room where suspect Fernan Chua supposedly took a bath.

The police found sachets of suspected shabu with glass fragments.

"Kasi may mga customer sila na kuripot magbayad o kaya nagbuburahot, ang term nila. Ayan, niloloko nila," explained QCPD Station 6 Station Drug Enforcement chief Police Chief Insp. Sandie Caparroso.

Meanwhile, in Barangay Holy Spirit, authorities recovered several sachets of suspected shabu, drug paraphernalia, and more than ten cellphones inside the residence of only known for his alias, Udin.

The suspect was not there when authorities conducted the raid.

Another man, who tried to escape, was arrested. A plastic bag containing white substance was seized from him.

"Asin yan (that's salt)," the suspect said.

The police has filed charges of violation of Republic Act 9165 or Comprehensive Dangerous Drugs Act of 2002 against Gardose.

The authorities are still investigating the case of another suspect.

"'Yung mga drugs na nakukuha natin particularly shabu, may mga halo na ngayong candy at bubog. Ito'y isang indicator na maaaring nahihirapan silang kumuha ng supply. Pero hindidi tayo titigil dito, patuloy pa rin nating i-implement ang ating war on drugs," said Batas PNP head, Police Supt. Rossel Cejas. — BAP, GMA News
