Owner of house raided by Caloocan Police to file charges

The owner of the house raided by the Caloocan City Police without a search warrant is now bent on filing charges, a report on GMA News' "Balitanghali" on Sunday said.

According to a report by JP Soriano, the owner, identified as "Delia," said she plans to file cases against the police officers in question.

"Okay lang naman po sana kung pumunta sila. Ang ano kasi, ni bolt cutter nila 'yung pintuan namin tapos nagnakaw pa sila," she said.

According to Delia's daughter Pam, at least four police officers and two civilian assets conducted the raid in Tala, Caloocan.

CCTV footage showed the officers using a bolt cutter to get into the premises, then entering with a man and a child.

One of the police officers can be seen handling items, including a watch and a cellphone, before putting them back.

The child is later seen holding up the items to another police officer and pocketing them, with the officer holding up a finger to his lips in a sign to the child to keep quiet.

It was only after seeing the CCTV footage of the incident that the family discovered the theft: a cellphone, a wallet, and two watches with a cumulative value of P30,000 were taken.

"Puro sila mahahabang baril eh. Kung ako ang hinahanap nila, isang tulak lang nila sa akin, isang tao lang kayang kaya. Makikita mo mahahaba ang baril," a distraught Delia said.

Pam said that the team leader told them a person they had arrested had fingered Delia as a drug supplier. The family denies the accusation.

While the Caloocan City Police has not yet released any statement regarding the matter, its chief said he will not tolerate any abuses. — Jon Viktor D. Cabuenas/BM, GMA News
