14-yr-old boy in Taguig who allegedly uses marijuana shot to death

A 14-year-old boy was shot dead in Taguig City on Friday evening by two unidentified gunmen.

A report by DZBB's James Agustin on "Balitanghali" on Saturday said that the victim, Mark Salonga, sustained gunshot wounds in the head.

A CCTV footage taken minutes before the incident showed the Grade 5 student walking down the street with a male friend.

Residents later heard gunshots and saw two people wearing jackets walking away from the scene of the crime.

While there was not clear motive for the killing, Salonga's mother admitted that her son used marijuana in the past. However, she said that he had already undergone rehab.

"Hindi ko alam, wala naman siyang kaaway. Alam ko nagdadamo siya. Pina-rehab na po namin dati yan eh...kaya siya [nahinto] sa pag-aaral," an emotional Myra Salonga said.

Authorities are investigating the incident. —Jessica Bartolome/LBG, GMA News
