Woman abducts newborn baby in Novaliches

Police are looking for a woman who kidnapped a newborn baby in Novaliches, Quezon City.

According to an exclusive report on 24 Oras, six-day-old Sean Singson was taken last Wednesday by a woman who identified herself as Len Reyes.

Reyes had made the acquaintance of the baby's mother, Febe Singson, as mother and child were on the way to his check-up.

"Sabi ko, hala, aalis na ako, mage-eleven na pala, maglakad pa kasi ako. Sabi niya, sabay na lang kaya ako sa 'yo?" Singson said.

The suspect was even seen shielding Singson and her son from the sun in CCTV footage obtained by Quezon City police.

Singson said that she handed Reyes her son so she could get some documents photocopied, which was when the woman made off with the baby.

"Habang pa-alis pa lang ago magpa-Xerox, gumagapang ka na rin sa gilid, nagtatago ka siguro tapos ang bilis mo, hindi mo ba alam hinabol ka namin, sumigaw ako," said a tearful Singson, addressing Reyes by speaking directly to the camera.

According to Singson, her baby is sick and in urgent need of antibiotics.

"Nakakain siya ng dumi; nakuwento ko iyon sa iyo na may vaccination pa ang baby," Singson continued in her message to Reyes. "Sana alagaan mo siya ng mabuti. Dapat ipa-check-up mo siya."

QCPD Station 4 commander Superintendent Carlito Grijaldo said that "Len Reyes" may not be the woman's real name, as the Bagong Silang, Caloocan address she gave has turned out to be fake.

"Nada-divert lang tayo ng suspect para maligaw tayo," Grijaldo said.

Anyone who has information about the suspect is urged to call QCPD Station 4 at 0908-866-7336 or 936-3624. — Rie Takumi/BM, GMA News
