Cabbie punched by female motorist in viral video feared suffering another stroke


The taxi driver who was reportedly punched in the face by an irate female motorist told the Land Transportation and Franchising Regulatory Board that he feared suffering another a stroke during the traffic altercation that has since gone viral.

According to Chino Gascon's report on "24 Oras", cabbie Virgilio Doctor said that he down from his car after he was punched by the female driver so that he could be brought to the hospital by bystanders should he suffer another stroke.

"Naupo muna ako sa gilid ng kalsada para sakaling masumpong ako, may magtatakbo sa 'kin," Doctor said.

The cabbie said he suffered a stroke in 2014, the reason why he said he was walking slowly and had slurred speech.

Doctor and his operator went to the LTFRB on Monday to coordinate with the authorities as regards the physical assault.

The cabbie was reportedly punched in the face by the female motorist following a heated traffic-related argument that saw the latter even hitting the Doctor's cab.

The LTFRB will help Doctor prepare his complaint affidavit which would then be forwarded to the Land Transportation Office.

His operator will also help the cabbie file a criminal complaint against the motorist, who have since been the subject of criticisms on social media. —NB, GMA News
