QCPD cop, 2 others nabbed in buy-bust ops in Marikina

A Quezon City Police officer and two others were nabbed in a buy-bust operation in Marikina early Wednesday morning.

Quezon City Police District (QCPD) director Chief Superintendent Guillermo Eleazar confirmed to GMA News Online that Police Officer 1 Adrian Patrick Pinalas, 29, who is assigned at the QCPD District Mobile Force Battalion (DMFB), was arrested in a buy-bust operation by the Marikina Police Station Drug Enforcement Unit conducted at 12:10 a.m. in Barangay Nangka, Marikina City.

Pinalas was arrested along with Christian Gayl Villanueva Pangilinan, 32, and Jenalyn De Luna Jeriza, 25. Recovered from the suspects were five pieces of plastic transparent sachet containing white crystalline substance suspected as dangerous drug and a P1,000 bill used as buy-bust money.

The suspects were brought to the Eastern Police District crime laboratory for drug test and for further laboratory examination on the seized drug evidence.

National Capital Region Police (NCRPO) chief Director Oscar Albayalde said that Pinalas has been relieved from his post.

Meanwhile, Eleazar said that he has also ordered the relief of Pinalas' immediate officer, DMFB admin officer Senior Inspector Ramil Dugan.

“The PNP does not tolerate irregularities of its members and has zero tolerance and no compromise on our personnel involved in illegal drugs,” Eleazar said.

“They will suffer the full consequence of their actions and have no reason to stay as members of our organization,” he added. — Marlly Rome Bondoc/RSJ, GMA News
