Fire at Manila Pavilion Hotel declared under control

The blaze at the Manila Pavilion Hotel and Casino was declared under control on Monday morning.

A Dobol B sa News TV report said that Senior Inspector Crossib Cante of the Manila fire bureau's Station III declared that the hotel fire was under control at 8 a.m.

The fire at the hotel broke out shortly before 10 a.m. Sunday.

Four people have been confirmed killed and one more person remained missing.

Three of the fatalities died at the Manila Doctor's Hospital while the fourth fatality was recovered on the hotel's fifth floor earlier.

Firemen have started mopping up operations at the hotel while the search for the missing person continues. —ALG, GMA News
