Police discover shabu lab in Marikina City subdivision

Police discovered a shabu laboratory inside a subdivision in Marikina City on Friday, possibly linked to another shabu laboratory found in Malabon City.

Senior Inspector Jacqueline Taa of the Marikina City Police said their operatives seized several plastic and aluminum containers of chemicals inside the shabu laboratory at Saint Mary Subdivision in Barangay Nangka.

Taa said that the house where the clandestine laboratory was discovered was owned by John Ming Shen, who was arrested by Philippine Drug Enforcement Agency operatives in another shabu laboratory raid in Malabon City last week.

The Marikina Police said the raid was conducted after a concerned citizen told them that the Chinese-Filipino suspect was seen in their neighborhood.

The concerned citizen made the call to the police after seeing the Chinese-Filipino suspect in television news reports.

Taa said Shen's wife, Lulu Hong, his mother Zheng Chongli and two female house helpers were inside the house when the raid was conducted.

It did not say if the four women were arrested. —ALG, GMA News
