Police release facial composites of QC prosecutor's killers

Police on Saturday released the facial composites of two of the four men who ambushed and killed a prosecutor in Quezon City on Friday.

Chief Superintendent Joselito Esquivel, director of the Quezon City Police District, said the facial composites of the two suspects were based on descriptions by a security guard who witnessed the killing of Deputy Prosecutor Rogelio Velasco, 64, in Barangay Holy Spirit.

Bot of the suspects were described as having fair complexions, medium in built and stands 5'7" and 5'6".

Half of one of the suspects' face was covered while the other one was wearing a black jacket during the shooting.

Esquivel said the QCPD has activated a Special Investigation Task Group to focus on Velasco's killing.

Velasco was driving his red Toyota Innova and was with his two children when four armed men on board a white Toyota Innova blocked their way.

The four men, one of them armed with a rifle, opened fire at the prosecutor's vehicle.

The prosecutor's children survived the ambush and rushed their father to the hospital, where the victim was pronounced dead.

Esquivel said one possible motive of the killing was "work-related."

"However, we will look into other angles to establish the real motive in the killing to identify and arrest the perpetrators. We also appeal to any one with related information to come forward and help the police investigation," he said. —ALG, GMA News
