PDEA nabs two suspected high-end drug pushers in Alabang

Operatives of the Philippine Drug Enforcement Agency-Special Enforcement Service arrested two suspected high-end drug pushers in a buy-bust operation in Alabang on Friday, according to a report on Balitanghali on Monday by John Consulta.

Nabbed were Rajiv Gidwani, an Indian, and his alleged accomplice Jeremiah Carillo.

The two allegedly sold ecstasy and marijuana to an undercover agent of PDEA inside an exclusive subdivision in Alabang.

Also arrested was Gidwani's father Nari Gidwani, 63, a businessman. Nari allegedly brought P1 million pesos supposedly to bribe PDEA agents to release his son.

Recovered from Rajiv's room were 167 tablets of ecstasy worth almost half a million pesos and P11,000 worth of kush or high-grade marijuana.

Authorities also discovered in the cellphone of one of the suspects a video showing clients instructions on how to use lysergic acid deithylamide (LSD), a rare kind of illegal drugs allegedly brought in by the group from abroad.

PDEA Director Levi Ortiz said the suspects' clients, among them a model, actor and politician, meet the suspects inside the exclusive subdivision so as not to be seen by authorities.

PDEA Director General Aaron Aquino did not identify the alleged clients of the suspects during a press conference on Monday.

The suspects will face raps for bribery and violation of Republic Act 9165 or Comprehensive Dangerous Drugs Act. —KG, GMA News
