Junjun Binay files COC for mayor, to challenge sister Abby

Former Makati mayor Junjun Binay on Tuesday filed his certificate of candidacy (COC) for mayor, challenging his sister Abby who will seek re-election in the 2019 elections.

Junjun was accompanied by his sister, Senator Nancy Binay, in filing his COC.

The son of former Vice President Jejomar Binay, Junjun had earlier said he decided to run for mayor following the encouragement of majority of the city councilors and several barangay officials.

The elder Binay had earlier said he is leaving it up to Makati City voters to decide who between Junjun and Abby they will vote for.

Abby is set to file her COC on Wednesday. —KBK, GMA News
