Pagasa wary of ‘Gener’ doing a ‘Cosme’

MANILA, Philippines - Tropical depression "Gener" may do a "Cosme" by changing course and pass through some parts of the country, state weather forecasters said Friday afternoon. Philippine Atmospheric Geophysical and Astronomical Services Administration (Pagasa) weather branch head Nathaniel Cruz said that while there is no sign "Gener" would change course, the possibility is still there. "May posibilidad pero sa ngayon wala siyang pinapakitang ganoon. Ito ang delikado (There is still a possibility it may return, although there is no sign of it doing so, for now. Still, it's a very delicate matter)," Cruz said in an interview on dzBB radio. Cruz said that earlier this year, cyclone "Cosme" was heading for Vietnam or Southern China but weather systems in the Philippines caused it to change course. He said the cyclone eventually lashed Central and Northern Luzon, pounding Zambales and Pangasinan before exiting Philippine territory. On the other hand, he said "Gener" is already likely at this time to enhance the southwest monsoon. - GMANews.TV
