Palace appoints new Ched chairman

MANILA, Philippines - Malacañang on Thursday announced the appointment of Manny Angeles as the new chairman of the Commission on Higher Education (Ched). Deputy Presidential Spokesperson Lorelei Fajardo said in a statement that Angeles' appointment papers were signed on August 20. Angeles - a former chancellor of the Angeles University Foundation and president of the Clark Development Corp. - will occupy the post vacated by former Ched chief Romulo Neri following his appointment as president of the Social Security System last July 9. - GMANews.TV
