Giant Arroyo photo mosaic unrolled at Luneta

MANILA, Philippines - A 28,000-square-foot photo mosaic of President Gloria Macapagal Arroyo was unrolled Sunday noon at the Rizal Park in Manila. The mosaic, printed on tarpaulin, included 1,000 action pictures of President Arroyo taken by photojournalist Revoli Cortez while he covered the Palace. Press Secretary Cerge Remonde said the mosaic was a gift for President Arroyo although she was in her hometown in Lubao, Pampanga to celebrate her 62nd birthday. “I think the President will be pleasantly surprised," Remonde, who was present during the unrolling, said. Those who joined Remonde were former Press Undersecretary Carmen Suva and officials and employees of the Office of the Press Secretary (OPS). Cortez said the full-color mosaic, an entry in the World Records, was printed by Golden Touch Printers, which also holds the record for the largest printed photo sticker in the world. Sponsors of the event are the Philippine Charity Sweepstakes Office (PCSO), Philippine Amusement and Gaming Corp. (Pagcor), the Office of the Press Secretary (OPS), the Department of Interior and Local Government (DILG), Embrace Foundation, and the Rizal Park administration. - GMANews.TV
