Noynoy to complete list of Cabinet members after proclamation

Presidential front-runner Senator Benigno “Noynoy" Aquino III will announce the complete roster of his Cabinet members after he is officially proclaimed on Wednesday, his spokesperson said on Tuesday. “It would be presumptuous for the president-elect to announce appointments before he is proclaimed. I am not aware of the exact time table, but he will make these announcements after his proclamation," lawyer Edwin Lacierda, Aquino’s spokesperson, told GMANews.TV in a phone interview. Aquino is still completing the list of his Cabinet members, and he wants to fill all positions first before making the announcement, Lacierda added. Aquino had named two former Cabinet members — former Social Welfare Secretary Corazon “Dinky" Soliman and former presidential adviser on the peace process Teresita “Ging" Deles — as part of his own portfolio. Quezon City administrator and Aquino’s longtime friend, Paquito “Jojo" Ochoa, meanwhile, has already accepted the executive secretary post. Lacierda also said he has already accepted the offer to become the presidential spokesperson once Aquino assumes his post on June 30. The Congress, acting as the national board of canvassers, will officially proclaim the country’s next president and vice-president on Wednesday. - RJAB Jr., GMANews.TV
