DOLE announces venues of May 1 job fairs

The Department of Labor and Employment (DOLE) has disclosed the venues of the job fairs that will provide some 30,000 job opportunities on Labor Day on May 1. DOLE Secretary Rosalinda Baldoz said Labor Day, in honor of the nation’s workers, will be celebrated on May 1 on the theme, “Matuwid na Daan Tungo sa Kaunlaran Para sa Lahat." “We are offering workers the opportunity to find productive jobs, as well as safety nets and non-wage benefits, in the Job and Livelihood Fairs that are one of the centerpiece events of the celebration," she said in a news release posted on the DOLE website. The Philippines will partner with the private sector in the commemoration, to highlight its policy reform of inclusiveness and social dialogue to foster social justice, increase productivity, and promote economic growth, she added. Baldoz said there are initially 150 local employers who have committed to provide over 30,000 job opportunities to job seekers in the main Labor Day jobs and livelihood fair in Metro Manila, to be held at Rizal Park.
