PNoy orders giving of P10,000 bonus to state workers


President Benigno Aquino III has ordered the giving of P10,000 bonus to government employees starting December  8, Thursday.
 
Aquino signed Administrative Order 24, “authorizing the grant of productivity enhancement incentive to government employees for fiscal year 2011”, on December 1.
 
The payment of the PEI to government employees shall not be made earlier than December 8, a week earlier than the date announced by Malacañang.
 
Eligible for the bonus are civilian employees that occupy regular, casual or contractual positions with at least four months of service in national government agencies under the executive branch, including those in government owned or controlled corporations and government financial institutions.
 
Military personnel of the Armed Forces, Department of National Defense, uniformed personnel of the Philippine National Police, Bureau of Fire Protection and Bureau of Jail Management; Philippine Coast Guard and National Mapping and Resource Information Authority are also entitled to the one-time bonus.
 
Employees of the Senate, House of Representatives, the Judiciary, the Office of the Ombudsman  and constitutional offices vested with fiscal autonomy may also be granted a one time productivity enhancement incentive not exceeding P10,000.
 
Meanwhile, the grant of bonus for salaried employees in local government units, including those in barangay who are compensated through monthly honoraria, shall be determined by their respective Sangguinan dependiong on the LGU’s financial capability.
