Meanwhile, classes in Navotas City will remain suspended in all levels in public and private schools on Friday. In a post on its Twitter account, Navotas cited forecasts of continuous rain, strong wind, high tide and damaged dikes. “Still NO CLASSES in Navotas City tomorrow, Aug 3, in all levels, public & private due to continuous rain, strong wind, high tide & damaged dikes,” the city government said. According to the city’s Facebook account, sandbags have been stacked along Malabon-Navotas River and coastal areas facing Manila Bay to prevent flash floods. In Bulacan, the Department of Education said classes are still suspended in Obando and Hagonoy West. Morning classes suspended in Malabon In Malabon City, radio dzBB reported morning classes were suspended up to the high school level in all public and private schools. Morning classes were also suspended in the City of Malabon University and the City of Malabon Polytechnic Institute. The city government was to announce at 10 a.m. if afternoon classes will also be suspended, the dzBB report quoted city public information officer Bong Padua as saying.
