Latest Maguindanao massacre suspect brought to Taguig detention cell


The latest suspect to be arrested in connection with the November 2009 Maguindanao massacre was brought to a highly secured detention facility in Taguig City Wednesday afternoon.
 
Under tight security, Anwar Sajid Ampatuan was brought from Philippine National Police headquarters in Camp Crame to Camp Bagong Diwa in Taguig City, radio dzBB reported.
 
Ampatuan and his security escorts left Camp Crame at 3 p.m., the report said. Anwar Sajid Ampatuan, a grandson of former Maguindanao Gov. Andal Ampatuan Sr.carried a P250,000 reward for his arrest.  
 
 
On Tuesday night, Ampatuan, 22, was arrested after PNP Criminal Investigation and Detection Group operatives raided his house in Las Piñas City.
 
Police also seized from Ampatuan's house several firearms and ammunition during the raid conducted at about 6 p.m.
An initial investigation showed he had been staying in the subdivision for about a year.
 
"As far as our account of suspect arrested, this is the 103rd arrested," CIDG head Director Samuel Pagdilao Jr. said.
 
He said this should be a morale booster for law enforcers.
