Laviña says Duterte camp preparing transition of government

DAVAO CITY – The spokesperson of City Mayor Rodrigo Duterte on Tuesday said their camp is preparing for the transition of government, which will begin when the leading presidential candidate is proclaimed the official winner of the elections. 

"We are already preparing four major teams," Peter Lavina said during a press conference in Royal Mandaya Hotel. 

They are the following:

• Overall transition committee 
• Selection committee 
• Policy group 
• Inauguration committee 

"We will announce as soon as they are officially approved by the mayor," he added. 

Laviña said the executive committee of the campaign team of Duterte already talked about the transitions twice before the elections to prepare for a possible victory. 

The spokesperson also said they have yet to reach out to the Aquino administration for the transition. 

"We will await for the official proclamation of the Mayor as president-elect," he said.— RSJ, GMA News
