Duterte to check out Russia’s arsenal for anti-terror weapons

President Rodrigo Duterte is going to Moscow in the next few months to check out precision weapons the Russian government is offering and that he plans to use against terrorists in the country.

In a dinner with Armed Forces of the Philippines (AFP) Council of Sergeants Major on Tuesday night, Russia had been quite supportive.

“I’m going to Russia. Russia is very helpful... So I will go to Russia springtime. They are preparing for my visit," Duterte said.

"Ako ‘yung mga precision-guided [firearms] ano… Hindi ko kailangan ng anti-aircraft. Rebelde lang naman ‘to. But we are facing a very serious threat,” he added.

Duterte was referring to ISIS and the local armed groups that want to get the extremist group's attention.

He even told the soldiers never to let ISIS terrorists catch them.

“Remember that kung ISIS na change the whole… Huwag kayo mag-surrender diyan. Ireserba mo ‘yung last bullet mo para... kapag I-capture ka pahirapan ka, gawain kang boy tapos luluglugin,” Duterte said.

“Kung tayo na lang naiwan doon barilin mo ako tapos barilin kita para hindi magsakit na magbaril ng sarili mo. You know the ISIS is an extremist and they have done so many horrible crimes against humanity,” he added. —NB, GMA News
