Rock to Bato on joining PNPA: You did it for survival, I’m doing this for love

The son of PNP chief Director General Ronald "Bato" dela Rosa on Thursday responded to the apprehension expressed by his father as regards his admission into the Philippine National Police Academy.

The country's top police official said that he was proud but at the same time worried that his son was entering a challenging institution like the PNPA.

You did it out of survival,” Rock dela Rosa said on Facebook.

In his post, Rock dela Rosa tagged the PNP chief and shared GMA News Online's article on top cop's apprehension.

Rock dela Rosa said he made the decision out of love for the country and he will succeed with the help of God.

“Please understand that I’m doing this out of love.

In a press conference earlier in the day, the PNP chief said he was proud of his son but he is at the same time apprehensive of his decision to join the PNPA.

"Kinakabahan ako kung kakayanin ba niya. I wish him good luck. Proud ako pero bilang ama kinakabahan din,” Dela Rosa said.

"Physically alam ko kayang-kaya niya. Malakas ‘yun eh. Pero ‘yung psychological, I don’t know. Iba siya, iba ako," he added.

Dela Rosa indicated that he had more motivation when he joined the Philippine Military Academy in the 1980's. He graduated from the PMA in 1986.

"Ako anak ng tricycle driver kaya no retreat, no surrender ako.

Medyo apprehensive lang ako," he added. —NB, GMA News
