118 suspects killed in latest PNP anti-illegal drugs operations


A total of 118 drug suspects have been killed as of Thursday in the latest round of anti-illegal drug operations by the Philippine National Police since it relaunched the campaign in March.

Of those who were killed, 44 were recorded in Region 3 while 17 were recorded in the National Capital Region Police Office (NCRPO), 15 in Region 4A and seven in Region 7. The rest were distributed in smaller numbers nationwide.
 
Data from the regional offices showed the police conducted 5,461 anti-illegal drugs operations from March 1 to April 13. The police sent the data to reporters on Thursday.

The operations also resulted in the arrest of 8,688 drug suspects of which 1,838 happened in the National Capital Region, 1,824 in Region 4A, 1,069 in Region 3 and 1,009 in Region 7.

The police also revisited 545,735 houses while 178,441 houses have been visited for the first time under Project Tokhang.

A total of 80,253 drug suspects have surrendered, including 71,598 users and 8,655 pushers.

PNP chief Director General Ronald dela Rosa earlier said there will be no break in the campaign against illegal drugs, even during the Holy Week. — VDS, GMA News
