Duterte ribs Erap: Ano ha? Ibalik kita sa kulungan?

Before he headed to the 80th birthday celebration of former President and incumbent Manila Mayor Joseph "Erap" Estrada, President Rodrigo Duterte on Wednesday joked about how he would send the convicted plunderer back to jail.

In a speech at the launch of Cine Lokal in Pasay City, Duterte said that Estrada once underestimated him.

"Si Erap naghihintay na ang buang sabi niya, 'Punta ka na ha. Tapos sabi, 'Wala iyan si Duterte. Wala iyan low class.' Ano ha balik kita sa kulungan," he said as the audience laughed.

Duterte went to Estrada's birthday party at the Manila Hotel where his son, former Senator Jinggoy Estrada was expected to attend.

Jinggoy is facing plunder raps and is presently detained at the PNP Custodial Center in Camp Crame.

The former President was convicted of plunder for his alleged involvement in the illegal numbers game jueteng. He was, however, pardoned by then President Gloria Macapagal-Arroyo.

Estrada is the godfather of Duterte's grandson, Marko Digong, the youngest son of Davao City Mayor Sara Duterte and lawyer Manases Carpio. —NB, GMA News
