The Philippine Army on Sunday released photos and details of the soldiers and police officers who have been killed during the ongoing battle against terrorist forces in Marawi City.

A comprehensive list provided by GMA News' Saleema Refran showed that 58 of the government's security forces—members of the Philippine Army, the Philippine Marines, and the Philippine National Police, were killed in action.

Just last Friday, 13  Marines were killed while at least 40 were injured after a 16-hour clash with Maute group members in Barangay Lilod Madaya.

Among those killed was First Lieutenant Frederick Savellano, Commander of the MBLT's 37th Marine Company, the same group that discovered P52 million in cash and P17-million worth of checks in a Maute group hideout in Barangay Mapandi last week. — Jon Viktor D. Cabuenas/BM, GMA News
