Duterte to spend Father's Day in Davao City

President Rodrigo Duterte is expected to spend his first Father’s Day as the chief executive in his hometown Davao City.

“Malamang Davao,” presidential spokesperson Ernesto Abella told GMA News Online in a text message on Friday when asked about where Duterte would celebrate the occasion.

A source also confirmed that Duterte, who has been out of the public eye for days, will indeed spend Father’s Day in Davao City, where his entire family resides and where he served as mayor for multiple terms.

Meanwhile, Malacañang also released an early Father’s Day greeting, urging the public to honor their fathers on Sunday.

“Let us take time on Sunday and greet all fathers a Happy Father’s Day. Fathers have always been our guiding hand. Say thank you and tell your father how wonderful he is,” Abella said in a statement. —Trisha Macas/KBK, GMA News
